Well, even though my internship has come to an end at the library, I wanted to finish my 23 Things training!
With exams finally over, I finally have some time to catch up - so today is my race to the finish! If I've only learned one thing from this program (but I've certainly learned more than one...), it's that I sure didn't know as much about the internet as I thought I did.
I think my favourite lessons were the creation of the igoogle homepage and the use of RSS feeds to bring my my favourite news sources. I find if much less distraction and time efficient than going to every webpage.
Well, the wrap-up is just around the corner, and I'm hoping to be able to sneak out of my new job to grab some cake. Thanks 23 Things team! It was a pleasure to work with and learn from you.

Top O' The Webpage
In keeping with my late catch-up, I've decided to reference last week's St. Patrick's day festivities through my required YouTube video post. I'm not sure what to make of this, but Alabama may be more Irish than I ever thought...
Prezi-changy
After a long hiatus, I have returned to catch up on 23 things!
This morning I tackled Prezi, which I had never encountered before. My library computer didn't seem to jive with the Prezi site, and insisted on a flash player upgrade before I could edit a project. Unfortunately, I was prevented from upgrading said flash by reasons not entirely clear to me.
But rest assured, my laptop saved the day! (Is it because it's a mac? Probably.) I was able to edit a project, but one more snag popped up: My youtube video also did not play after I inserted it!
After a quick google troubleshoot, I learned that some videos are not able to be embedded within other sites. To find out if a youtube video is 'embeddable,' you can click the 'embed' button underneath the video you're watching. If it says, 'Embedding disabled by request,' it won't run in Prezi.

Rocking the RSS
Week three has come surprisingly fast, but luckily the lesson this week was a good one. I've always wanted to learn more about what RSS can offer, and now I have the new of the world (and 23 things!) coming to one place!

Inaugural Blogural
My first blog! How exciting.
As a library intern for the term, not only will I be able to follow the 23 Things as they appear, but I'll also be able to view the 'behind the scenes,' and work with the core group of this program's organizers. I'm very excited to learn all about Web 2.0 this term, and to be able to help this program and its participants!
